Armin Sigmund

Armin Sigmund is a PhD student in the Laboratory of Cryospheric Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL). His research aims at quantifying the balance between snow accumulation and depletion in polar and high-alpine regions, especially in Antarctica. The focus of his work is on measuring and modeling sublimation during drifting and blowing snow events. He studies this process on the small scale of a measurement site to improve formulas in large-scale models for the entire Antarctic ice sheet.
